- April 09, 2008 Atelier in Traditional Architectural Rendering in Wash - Santa Barbara Session One
This studio course will be conducted as an architect's workroom with the instructor leading by example, and formal instruction provided both individually and collectively. Students of all levels, including the instructor, will work on drawings of diverse scales and complexity. Among the topics covered are materials; India ink, toned ink, and full color washes; stretching and mounting of watercolor paper; casting of shadows and shades; simulating texture, atmospheric perspective; sheet composition, drafting the measured drawing, all ordered to the production of a Beaux-Arts analytique. A discussion of the history of architectural drawings and the role of the analytique will run throughout the course.
