Oliver M. Furth, Guest Speaker

Before opening his eponymous design firm in 2004, Oliver M. Furth trained under some of the best: Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Michael S. Smith, Trip Haenisch, Marc Appleton, and the Greg Jordan. He attended Architecture school and worked for Christies Auction house in their Decorative Arts department. In addition to his design practice, Furth runs a roving experimental gallery, FURTH YASHAR &. He consults for The Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and is Chair Emeritus of its Decorative Arts and Design Council –the youngest person ever to hold this prestigious position. Furth’s work focuses on innovation and current dialogues, and he has re-framed the way Angelenos think about contemporary design.
Furth’s design projects have been featured in numerous national and international publications including in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Architectural Digest, Elle Décor, Veranda, House Beautiful, C Magazine, Departures, Cultured Magazine, The Hollywood Reporter, Sotheby’s Magazine, LUXE Magazine, and Elle Decor Italia. In 2010, Elle Decor honored Furth by naming him onto their A-List, as one of ‘Five Young Designers to Watch’, and Traditional Home called Furth one of the ‘20 top young designers in the country’, in 2013, Furth received the coveted ‘Design Star on the Rise’ award from the Pacific Design Center, and most recently, The Hollywood Reporter included him in their list of ‘Hollywood’s Most Influential Interior Designers’.
