Take a step back in time and join us in a workshop demonstration in the art of Water Gliding & Leather Tooling and learn how layered designs are created. Internationally recognized artisans Emma Peascod and Michele Costello will provide a live demo of these ancient crafts used in architecture and design today.
Emma Peascod is the founder of Studio Peascod, internationally recognized for pioneering the art of creating surfaces by hand, combining Japanese aesthetics with atmospheric textures and materials. The Studio’s myriad designs re-imagine the traditional verre églomisé process of reverse glass gilding. The designs bespoke verre égomisé glass works for interior and architectural projects, and her pieces can be found in numerous public and private spaces around the world. The Studio has been featured widely in numerous publications such as Architectural Digest France, The World of Interiors, Wallpaper*, House & Garden, Homes & Garden, Elle Decoration, Hole & Corner, The FT How to Spend It, Telegraph Luxury, Living Etc and Rum.
Following a traditional seven-year apprenticeship, Michele Costello opened Costello Studio Inc., incorporating her business knowledge with her skills as an artisan. Today Costello Studio, Inc. has 32 years of experience producing custom leather projects and installations for architects, interior designers and construction companies, and has become known for the highest quality architectural and decorative details; hand crafted, hand dyed leather, parchment and shagreen.
